Brotherhood of Saint Camille of Lellis “Oasis of Love”
The Saint Camille de Lellis Fraternity “Oasis of Love” was born in 2003 in the heart of the Saint Camille de Lellis Association from the intuition of the Founder Mr. Grégoire AHONGBONON and Miss Alice SOME.
It finds its origin in the call received by people serving within the Centers and who expressed the desire to experience this service as part of a consecration of life.
An answer to God's call
It brings together those who wish to devote their entire lives to the service of people suffering from mental illnesses. It can also have within it consecrated persons who aspire to the Sacred Order. Together they seek to respond to this call from God.
Today, the Fraternity shines in several West African countries, offering a living testimony of the love of Christ manifested to the smallest and most suffering.
The main mission of the Fraternity is rooted in that of the Saint Camille de Lellis Association; the members of the Fraternity undertake to have a real and effective service within the Centers, according to their capacity and their own charisms.
Each member of the Fraternity ensures that they have a positive outlook, words and gestures towards each person welcomed. Everyone is a “caregiver” in the attention they give to each person: toilet, food, care, clothing, entertainment, prayer, etc.
It is the stone that we bring for the edification of the Church and the world.
Become a model of service and love for people suffering from mental illnesses in Africa and around the world, by forming consecrated persons capable of embodying the compassion of Christ.
The Fraternity has received from the Holy Spirit the Charism of seeking the face of Christ in persons suffering from mental illness.
Each member ensures they have a positive look, words and gestures towards each person welcomed. Each one is a caregiver in the care they give to each person.
